Due Diligence Expert
Stepchange Africa Acted as a Due Diligence Expert for the Deep Dive Africa program. The overall Deep Dive Africa project worked with 37 high-potential tech startups from Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Kenya and provided hands-on support to help prepare early stage, pre-seed companies to receive funding from angels or venture capitalists from Europe.
As the Due Diligence Expert for the Rwanda cohort, we supported 7 ambitious Rwandan startups active in the fintech, healthtech and agritech sectors to get investment ready and successfully engage with investors. This was accomplished via the following:
- Advised startups on the fundamentals of investment readiness (data-room and documentation explanation and preparation)
- Evaluated 1st draft of data-room based on a criterion of nearly 40 indicators. Each data room included 20+ pieces of detailed company information.
- Finalized data room for each participating startup for investor day.
Outcome: Companies raised more than 500,000 USD in funding from small ticket investors, investing between 25,000 – 50,000 USD per startup.
